The Isle Of Man Communications Commission licenses and regulates all telecommunications for the Isle of Man in the manner it considers best calculated to promote the interests of consumers, purchasers and other users of telecommunications services on the Island.
The Commission works with Ofcom, via ManSat Ltd, and the British National Space Centre when authorising Isle of Man space sector activities, for example geo-stationary satellite filings and telemetry, tracking and control under international treaties.
Customs and Excise
Our involvement in SpaceIsle is critical because of the indirect taxation issues. To enhance our understanding and ability to make informed decisions we have restructured the Customs and Excise Division to improve further the services we offer to Space related businesses.
We provide assistance and advice on anything to do with Space and act as introducers and facilitators for businesses dealing with customs issues in jurisdictions around the world.
We provide reassurance that, by understanding the needs of the Space Industry, our decisions are made on an informed basis. We can consider and flag up issues before they arise or become urgent. Isle of Man Customs is a 'one-stop shop'. Whether you are importing or trading, in relation to indirect tax or customs we provide one single point of contact. Our Customer Relationship Unit is geared up to assist companies moving to the Isle of Man, to meet and talk with them and then allocate an individual Client Relationship Manager with the right expertise for that company.
We are proud of the level of service we provide compared to other states as well as the excellent access to our Government Minister and to technical decision makers.
Customs officials are well trained, experienced and schooled in their belief and ability to offer an excellent level of service to their customers. We assist businesses to develop and flourish.
